Fearlessly four

Throwing it back a couple of years to our days in the hot and sticky tropics of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It was a time of big changes for this little chap: finding himself in new territory after yet another international move, he was also adapting to life in pre-school for the first time. The first few weeks were tumultuous, for sure: desperately clinging onto Mummy or Daddy at the school gate, the tears would be in full flow most days. Roll on two-and-a-half years later, though, and the excitement of seeing his little chums back at school last week after a six-week break was veritably bursting at the seams. The boy who once wouldn’t say boo to a goose is now finally coming out of his shell – and having watched his #confidence blossom over the last few years has undoubtedly been one of the most beautiful bits in the higgledy-piggledy parenting journey. I do sometimes wish I could take a leaf out of his book, leaving my inhibitions, niggling worries and #selfdoubt at the door, and be a bit more self-assured; a bit more toddler. What about you? Do you find your confidence and #selfesteem blossom with age? Or does the increased sense of responsibility, the ever-growing to-do list and the overwhelming array of ‘stuff’ make you question your choices and abilities in ways that didn’t crop up in former years? At what age have you felt your most #fearless and #confident to date? Those be some big questions for a Thursday, and I have to confess I’m not quite sure where they all came from… I swear this keyboard has a mind of its own sometimes! #BeConfident #BeBold #BeMoreToddlder #confidentwomen #womensupportingwomen #motherhood #mumblog #PBloggersUK #PolychromaticYouth #thelocalwayfarer #Mindfulness #MindfulMoments #KateGetsMindful #MeanderingMindully #MumblingMindfully
